Why our Supplications are not answered

Why our Supplications are not answered.

Ibrahim bin Adham, may Allah have mercy upon him, was a third century scholar, a teacher and companion of Sufyaan Ath-Thawree, and he was asked about the saying of Allah, the Most high:

“And your Lord says: Call on me and I will answer your prayer” [Al Qur’an 41:60]

“You know Allah, Yet you do not obey him,
You recite the Qur’an, Yet you do not act according to it,
You know the Shaitaan, Yet you have agreed with him,
You proclaim to love the Messenger of Allah,
Yet you abandon His Sunnah,
You proclaim your love for Paradise, Yet you do not act to gain it,
You proclaim your fear of the fire,
Yet you do not prevent yourselves from sins,
You say ‘Indeed death is true’, Yet you do not prepare for it,
You busy yourselves with finding faults with others,
Yet you do not look at your own faults,
You eat that which Allah has provided for you,
Yet you do not thank him,
You bury your dead, Yet you do not take a lesson from it.”

Of course Allah (swt) gives an answer to each and every prayer of us. The thing is that we misunderstand the term. He says I will answer, he doesn’t say I will accept your prayer. When we call on him, he answers and listens to us , but because he is the All-Knowing he either gives what we ask or gives something better than that or he just doesn’t give anything for our goodness. In eather way, due to the prayer, he will bestow blessings on us in the hereafter, no doubt..
