Following the guidance of Allah(swt)

Following the guidance of Allah(swt)

“…then whosoever follows My Guidance he shall neither go astray, nor shall he be distressed. But whosoever turns away from My Reminder(i.e. neither believes in this Qur’an nor acts on its teachings.) verily, for him is a life of hardship…” (Surah Taha: 123-124)

Explanation

Most commentators of the Qur’an say that “a life of Hardship” refers to the punishment of the grave. It is likely that a believer may face some sort of hardship in this world as a test from Allah. However the state of the believer is such that the believer is patient during hardship and difficulty and grateful during ease and comfort, through which the Believer is in a perpetual state of peace and contentment. In contrast, the disbelievers (or the disobedient, sinful believers) may experience many comforts in this world, and are free to do whatever they want. However, they are deprived of inner peace and tranquillity, and in the grave for them will be a ‘life of hardship’. And Allah knows best.

This is a good point to reflect upon.
